PENANG FAMOUS TOURIST PLACE

 ATTRACTIONS IN BATU FERRINGHi
Batu Ferringhi is such a tranquil and friendly place that you may just find yourself browsing through real estate brochures before your trip is over. However there are many place such as;
  • Learning how to batik-paint
  • Visiting butterfly farm
  • Strolling through a one-of-a-kind spice garden
  • enjoying watery thrills
  • Spills in an amusement park

ATTRACTIONS IN GURNEY DRIVE
Gurney Drive is most well known for its happening eating places at night. Perhaps then, not many people know that two of the most beautiful temples in Penang are located in the vicinity. There are such nice place to visit which is :
  • Dharmikarama Burmese Temple
  • Cathedral of the Holy Spirit
  • World War II Relics
  • Church of Immaculate Conception
  • Tua Pek Kong Temple / Tanjong Tokong
  • Wat Chaiya Mangkalaram Temple
  • Penang Bodhi Heart Sanctuary
  • Gurney Plaza
  • Gurney Paragon Mall

ATTRACTIONS IN GEORGETOWN
Georgetown is a pedestrian-friendly city, with a well-planned series of roads and paths connecting one end of Penang’s capital to the other. There is a wealth of creativity, plus a dedication to preserving this island state’s colonial heritage and evidence of this can be found just about everywhere, from the indigo-blue Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion to the ornate Kek Lok Si Temple.
What we love best about Georgetown is that although almost everything is within walking distance, you do not have to walk if you don’t want to – simply hire a brightly-coloured trishaw and be delivered to the entrance of each temple and art-filled street. Such place like  Penang Hills, Clan Jetties, Khoo Kongsi, Fort Cornwallis, SIM Leisure Escape and Sri Mariamman Temple is a Hindu temple.

ATTRACTIONS in TANJUNG BUNGAH
Tanjung Bungah is pretty quiet when compared to its more touristy neighbours, Batu Feringghi, Gurney and Georgetown. It may not have even half as many things to see as Georgetown, but the two main attractions it has  the Floating Mosque and the Toy Museum  are unique and interesting in their own right.

  • Penang  Floating Mosque
Masjid Terapung or the Floating Mosque was built in 2004 in a bid to replace an older mosque which was damaged in the year’s major tsunami disaster. Situated along Tanjung Bungah’s stretch of beach, the mosque is an architectural wonder with its Moorish design, seven-storey-high towering minarets and 360-degree panoramic view of the sea. It’s the first mosque in the country to be built on the sea, with pillars and stilts supporting its majestic structure. Covering an area of 1,295sqm, it can accommodate up to 1500 people during prayer times.

  • Penang Toy Museum

Housing over a whopping 100,000 toys, figurines and collectibles, Penang’s Toy Museum is the country’s first toy museum and reputedly the largest of its kind in the world. The idea for the museum started when its owner, Loh Lean Cheng, visited London’s Toy & Model Museum, aged 19, in turn inspiring him to start his own collection. Divided into sections which include ‘Chamber of Horror’ and ‘ Hall of Beauties’, the collection includes rare limited editions acquired by Loh on his travels.

BAYAN LEPAS ATTRACTIONS
Bayan Lepas may be a predomin  antly industrial area, but it also has plenty of noteworthy attractions that are worth your while. The War Museum  on top of Bukit Maung gives you a glimpse of the nation’s bloody past with its well-preserved fortress and historical relics. For a temple with a difference, head on to the Snake Temple at Sungai Kluang, where you can get a chance to take a picture with its slithery residents. Or if your interest is more towards natural history, then a visit to the Penang Aquarium and the Bukit Jambul Orchid & Hibiscus Garden is a must.
